Well, they finally made it…welcome to Sholazar Basin, everyone! The Pillar of Life looms far off in the distance…can they get there in time? Also, bonus points to whoever can pick what quest [chain] Cadistra is talking about! (note – it’s a parody. You don’t actually get eaten.)
Sorry for the late update as well, guys! I’ve been so burnt out, that this comic took until the last minute to manifest itself. At least it’s only a day late. ^_^; Also, as I mentioned on Twitter, I tried a new inking style. Usually, I sketch and ink the whole thing in Sketchbook Pro, then do ‘extra shadows’ in Paint Tool Sai. This time, I sketched in SBP and went to inking right in Sai. Personally, I really like how it turned out. The ‘inks’ are far more responsive to pressure than Sketchbook’s ballpoint pen is, and I like the fluidity and line width variation.
Pardon the art-geekiness, heh heh… ^_^;

The lighting effects on that main panel are fantastic! And LMAO at that first panel!
I’ve just got to say, this comic just keeps getting better and better. Great art, storyline, characters… Keep it up!
Okay, can’t give the exact quest name off the top of my head, but I do know for a fact that it’s one of the steps that you have to do when dealing with the winterfin retreat murlocs and their “king”, you’ve gotta kill the leader of the orcas (which makes me sad every time I do it) and you can pick up an additional quest where you have to gather 8 or so orca blubbers and you get a stack of food that, I think, gives you a nice crit buff…or haste buff…whatever. Seriously, makes me sad every time I do it…
Additional note: those murloc babies you’ve gotta save durning that chain are quite literally too adorable. I can’t stand how adorable they are, it’s like I want to smother them with love ’cause they’re so cute.
The line work is a lot sharper and cleaner this way, I like it.
You can definitely notice the new inking style, especially in the second last panel. Very clean and has a lot of pop. Great work as always, Kelly!
O.o
The only quest chain I can think of where you deal with orcas is the one in the Howling Fjord where you have to kill the one named orca to get the crystal for the goblin so that you can talk to the pirates, and then the one in the Borean Tundra where you have to kill orcas to get blubber to make stew.
Also, I just woke up, so please forgive me if that made no sense at all.
Alll I can say is this:
Welcome To the Jungle!
Welcome to the basin! we got fun and games! Plus one huge green Devilsaur…
FFFF-
Carma, you have to rescue a Sin’Dorei scrying orb for a human who *thinks* he’s an elf – you rescue it from the Orca called “scoodles” – that’s the fjord one to get chatting to the pirates. The goblin is the one who sends you to him via Lou the cabin boy
Was it Mrrgl Grrrgl?
I loved that chain quest just for the murloc babies. I want those little murloc babies! The yare SOOOOO cute
love, love, love the style on this strip Cad ^_^
Awesome strip, as usual. I also really like the new inking style – it’s really done well.
The colors in this comic are very clear and bright. I really like this style a lot better.
Yay for comic!
I love the new inking style, I noticed it was different right away.
Hey, that new inking style looks good. The colors just seem to… pop more.
Woohoo! Can’t name the quest, but Comic relie- i mean Kissless cant die! Make haste!
Well if you can’t get a job for Blizzard in their art department I will say with this new style you would fit in well over at Tokyopop or any of the other Manga publishers, at least that is what it reminded me of at first.
I must say Cadistra seems to be getting the short end of the stick in regards to this storyline to saving Kissless, the elf seems to have nary a scratch on him and yet she just got to experience what Jonah went though, among a few other things. Who knows will happen when she goes though the Basin. I like the title of the strip as well as it fits, when I first set foot into Un’goro Crater though way back when in Vanilla WoW, first thing that came to mind then was “Welcome to Jurassic Park” fortunately not the same effect with the Basin.
The Glimmering Pillar or The Lifeblood Pillar*?
I think that it should be The Mosslight Pillar.
*which is half-destroyed.
might be a problem, that.
God I just love your style – both this comic and Byron. Great work.
It really looks better, this new inking style u used
i’m only a little dissapoined that they are’t seen with any Taunka help or fighting their way past that destroyed village, somehow makes the last page a little useless if u ask me..
For the rest, keep it up!
