Guest week #3! Oh geez, has it been that long…? :s I adore these two comics, as the first one by Intruder Geradr is SO FUNNY. I just loved the facial expressions – something I am told WoW Eh is famous for (??). Also, if Kama ever tried anything like that on Cadi, she’d be wearing a cloak outta his hide! XD Second, the ‘Breaking the Fourth Wall’ by Jenna Legras is so amazing. I never thought what the girls would look like being more ‘realistic.’ :3 Fantastic job, the both of you!
The cast is still on…week one is over. I hate this stupid thing. I can’t even play on my 360 because my hand can’t contour to the controller. :/ Ah well. One more week, and then I’m back to drawing my precious, precious comics.
To be quite honest, I’m really enjoying the break. ^_^; I feel guilty for not bringing you guys comics, but looking at the incredibly talented community we have, I’m not regretting it one bit. Thank all of you again for you kind words and contributions.
They’ve helped immensely.
Not a whole lot else has been going on, except for the fact that I FINALLY HIT LEVEL 80!! Yes, after nearly TWO YEARS of playing Cadistra, I finally. Hit. 80. I blame no one but myself in this. >_>; I thank all of my friends and wonderful guildies for helping me get this far. After dinging in the Halls of Reflection (friggin’ EPIC, by the way), my GL had me running heroics the same night.
I’m absolutely loving seeing all this new content. :3
Oh, also – got my epic flight form the next day (today).
Yes, I did the entire quest line, and yes, if I ever roll another druid, I’m buying the form. Not to say isn’t wasn’t fun and incredibly interesting, but the whole chain took me about 6 hours. o_O There’s just so much back-and-forth footwork; it’s crazy. ;__; Now, it’s time to farm Anzu…
Coming to you live for guest week #2, we have the tag team of Insanelyzanter and Alex Nunez of Torment of the Week! To clarify, yes, Kissless would totally use Cadi as a stepladder. Friends in high places, eh? ;D Also, I remember telling Alex (when he was asking of content criteria), and I said ‘draw whatever you want, just, y’know, no ‘Two Girls, One Cup’ sort of thing. So what does the guy go and do? Some people. ;3
What a busy week it’s been! As most of you know, I had my long-awaited wrist surgery early Friday afternoon. The whole thing went really well, to be honest. The nurses were really kind (one of them even commented on my Warcraft: Archives book!), and everything was done neatly and efficiently. I took the vote to overcome an irrational phobia of mine and opted to get put under (general anesthetic). Last thing I remembered, I was getting some ‘oxygen,’ next thing I know, I’m waking up in recovery with this cast on my arm. All in all, it was actually not too bad. Now comes the annoying fact that I can’t draw, and I’m a one-handed gimp for two weeks…>_>;;
I just wanted to give a sincere thank you for all the well-wishes, not to mention this amazing set of guest comics! You guys have really outdone yourselves, and I’m sincerely touched by your kindness. So, from this poor, gimped, artist, I give my deepest thanks. o^_^o
Time for Links!
-The Glaivecow – A WoW-related blog written by Ktok, the multi-talented, kind, and ever-patient guild leader of <Portent Alliance> (Horde on Sentinals). Whether you’re a raider, a leader, or anything in between, you’re sure to find some relevant and objective advice. Also, if you like his banner, maybe stop by and order something off of Baenhoof, local cow artist? Eh? Tell ‘er Cadi sent ya.
- Daily Quests – An awesome WoW webcomic by the ever-talented Fyreuni, with weekly lore posts by her companion Vas, the paladin. Fyreuni is a wonderfully good-natured and hard working artist, so I highly recommend you get over there and start reading! Also, I’m just putting this up now because I’m a gigantic tool, and I forget to do things like this. All the time. -_-;;
- Filibuster Cartoons – Non WoW-related, but I’m a big fat nerd, so I like political comics. I find Canadian politics interesting! Same with current events! SO THERE.

Things have been going really well for Fit Brains, the place where I spend most of my days, chillin’ out, maxin’, relaxin’ all coo-ah…*ahem* Anyways, we’ve come a long way as a company, not to mention we’ve made some sweet games (not to mention that all the main art/art direction in our latest game was by meeeeeee), so why not do your brain a favour and swing by? Imagine Brain Age, but, y’know, better. With colour. And substance. And…no giant, polygonal Japanese heads. Did I mention better? ;D’
Fit Brains also makes a great gift for your Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, or anyone that just wants to give their brain a bit of a stretch and a workout every now and then. Also, if you don’t want personalized tracking and metrics, you can just play for freeeee! Free is always good, right?
</end shameless job-pimping>
Thanks again for the great times, everyone! See you tomorrow for Byron!

Well, here we have – guest week #1! I’m really sorry for spending my last week on another project…I’m actually itching to draw out the next few pages of this story. Sadly, it’ll have to wait a few weeks until my surgery is all done, and I get my cast off. Yes, you heard it – I’m scheduled for wrist surgery this Friday, on the 29th of January. Came as a shock to me, to be quite honest…I was expecting a few months down the road. :/
Anyways, that being said, I’ve been spending every waking moment trying to get two very important things done – one, finish my entry for the Blizzard Calendar Art Contest, and two, get a few preemptive weeks of Byron done. That, along with tying up any lose ends at my full-time job…well, I’m pretty frantic as of late. ^_^;
This is where I renew my plea to you, my wonderful readers – if you can spare an idea and a bit of time, why not have some fun and show off your 1337 skills and make a guest comic for WoW Eh? The world is your oyster on this one, folks! It can be funny, serious, violent, cute, whatever! Just, y’know, no ‘Two Girls One Cup’ sorta thing, alright? :s
I should only be out of commission for…maybe three weeks? Four at the absolute most? The doctor I saw was kind of vague, although I’ll have better information once it all goes down.
Thanks again for being such a wonderful community, guys. I feel awful for putting WoW Eh on hold again, but after this, my wrist will be in top working condition!

Well, they finally made it…welcome to Sholazar Basin, everyone! The Pillar of Life looms far off in the distance…can they get there in time? Also, bonus points to whoever can pick what quest [chain] Cadistra is talking about! (note – it’s a parody. You don’t actually get eaten.)
Sorry for the late update as well, guys! I’ve been so burnt out, that this comic took until the last minute to manifest itself. At least it’s only a day late. ^_^; Also, as I mentioned on Twitter, I tried a new inking style. Usually, I sketch and ink the whole thing in Sketchbook Pro, then do ‘extra shadows’ in Paint Tool Sai. This time, I sketched in SBP and went to inking right in Sai. Personally, I really like how it turned out. The ‘inks’ are far more responsive to pressure than Sketchbook’s ballpoint pen is, and I like the fluidity and line width variation.
Pardon the art-geekiness, heh heh… ^_^;
We Got Fun and Games

Well, don’t I have egg on my face today.
Apparently, the nurse called me today, and asked me to confirm my appointment for the consultation. Yes, that’s right – A FUCKING CONSULTATION. The fact that it wasn’t actually going to be the surgery I was counting on just magically slipped everyones’ mind.
Add that to the fact that I not only ended up misleading all of you wonderful people, but that I killed myself for the last ten days, frantically getting work done.
Saying I was pissed is putting it very lightly. Furious is a more apt description.
That being said, you are all still more than welcome to submit guest comics – I adore you guys, and would love to see what you can produce – but it’s not immediately necessary now. Who knows, maybe doctor know-it-all will determine something needs to be done.
I apologize again for all the stuff that’s been going on. Everything will continue as normal, WoW Eh, Byron, and all other related art included.
~K
So, I have something to confess. A weakness, if I may.
I don’t like confessing things. I am very proud (yes, I admit it) and don’t like asking for help.
Now, that being said, here’s the skinny: next Thursday, on January 21st, I am going to have surgery on my left wrist. I am left-handed. Bearing that, I will be in a cast for about a week, followed by an undetermined recovery time (unless I am forced/ordered to otherwise, I’ll hopefully be drawing the minute I get my cast off >_>;;). As you would imagine, there’s a lot to do before next Thursday:
-3 additional pages of Byron, as ordered by the benevolent WoW.com (1/3 done!)
-The completely finished product for the Blizzard Calendar Art contest due February 8th
-…Well, my full-time job, which is crazy-busy.
I tried…believe me, I tried to get some extra WoW Eh’s done, as I felt horrible at the idea of having to take another break right after Christmas. You guys have waited long enough, and I really feel like I’m letting you guys down by having to take another small break. I’m going to try my darndest to have a page done for this weekend as well.
So, here’s my proposition – if you want, and I stress – IF YOU WANT – feel free to send in a guest comic. If you want to wait 2 weeks until I’m all better, then that’s cool. If you want a chance to draw a comic with the girls, then by all means. I’m just voicing an option for you, so the ball is in your guys’ court now. Any comics I [may] receive can be about whatever you want, just please, nothing vulgur, pornographic, etc, etc. You know the drill. :p
Again, I offer my deepest and humblest apologies. I thank you all who have wished me well, but while you all have supported me, I feel like I’ve let you guys down with my horribly choppy schedule.
~Kelly
This is more of a ‘character observation comic,’ I guess. Their route isn’t really that integral to the story, but I wanted to show the chemistry (or lack thereof) between Cadistra and Kama. She is not happy with his company…
Also, the talbuk just made aggravating situation even worse.
Not much has been going on my side of the bluff…working like mad to not only get additional comics done before the 21st, but also finish my submission to the Blizzard Calendar Contest. I’m doing the Lunar Festival…if anything, it’s fun to do.
Too Tired to Think of Something Clever
~Kelly
If anyone figures out which movie I parodied the title from, you win the internet. And possibly cookies.
Man, Cadistra is a friendly lady, but she does not like this Kama guy. I mean, she arrived on the scene to her best friend in pain, and he’s just standing around, going on about some ’schedule’ that needs to be kept? Looks like she’s gonna give Kama the cold shoulder until she finds out more about this elf…
SO! We’re back! Hooray! I gotta say, even though it’s upping the workload again, it feels great to be drawing WoW Eh again. I really missed this comic! As far as the wrist, it’s actually getting worse…but the holidays are over, I’m bored, and you guys have waiting long enough. I plan to get a comic done for the week that I’m out for surgery (it’s at the end of January), so hopefully I won’t have to take any more time off. That would just be mean on my part.
In other news, I hope everyone had a wonderful and restful holiday. Mine wasn’t that restful, but I got to visit a lot of friends and family, and I think I ate about 1.5x my body weight! All in all, it was really wonderful, and I hope for everyone to have a happy, healthy and prosperous 2010.
Now, if you follow me on Twitter, I’ve been eating up an anime series called ‘Ghost Hunt.’ I watched in subtitled (duh), and just finished the 25-episode series earlier today. I have to say that I really enjoyed it, although the ending was a bit too anti-climactic. Also, the series ended off as if it was going to continue, but I seriously doubt it will (unless it did under a different title? Anyone know?)
The series is staring Taniyama Mai, a young girl who, after breaking an expensive camera while exploring an old schoolhouse, gets roped into being the assistant to the ‘Shibuya Psychic Research Center’ after the original assistant, Lin, is hurt. Its leader is Kazuya Shibuya, a cold, business-like young man, and throughout the series, is joined by an ex-monk (just called ‘Monk’,) a self-styled Shinto Priestess named Ayako, an Australian Catholic priest named John, and Masako, a famous spirit medium.
The characterizations were wonderful, and even though it was a full cast of seven people, I really felt that no one got trampled over, and everyone was given ample screen time (except for Ayako, the priestess, but you find out why at the end). There were times when I was watching that I would genuinely get freaked out, like during poltergeist scenes and what-not. I honestly don’t think there’s an anime that has spooked me as much as this series has. All in all, great characters, interesting plots, and fantastic animation. I give it a must-watch.
Also, adding a new webcomic link to the blogroll: ‘No Pink Ponies!’ by Remy ‘Eisu’ Mohktar! I read through the entire archives over the holidays, and I love this comic! A very cute styling of a girl geek who opens a comic book store to get close to the guy she likes. Great story, great [geek] humor, and great art. Enjoy!

Since everyone is doing one of these, I figure I should be like all the popular people and write one too.
2009 has been a year of excitement, sadness, networking, and change on every conceivable level. Halfway through the year, I had lost my Grandfather to cancer, and reviewed the sad fact that I don’t have any grandparents left. This year was an eye-opener for me on a health care level, as my different aspects of my health saw more decline than I would’ve liked. The world saw real change with a fresh-faced Obama at the helm, trying to steer the out-of-control juggernaut that was America’s economy. Species extinction and global warming became real fore-fronts of the news. People lost jobs, homes were put up to foreclosure, and everyone saw only despair.
On the other hand, humans have the title of being [one of] the most adaptable creatures on Earth, and we survived. Many of my dear friends lost their jobs, but have gotten new ones. The economy is (hopefully) started on the road to recovery. Things like H1-N1 came and went; yet again proving how fear-mongering by the media is still as powerful as ever.
But hey – you guys didn’t come here for some sappy, CNN crap, did you?
This year for me was…well, to sum it up, both exhilarating and frightening. As I stated before, this year was fraught with personal problems, but I’ve also had the honor to experience things I never would have dreamed of. A year ago (give or take a few extra months), WoW Eh was some poorly-drawn, dinky little WoW webcomic that didn’t even warrant a passing glance. Now, thanks to YOU GUYS – my readers, the community, and WoW.com, WoW Eh is a thriving success. I receive approximately 75,000 hits a week (uh, when I actually have a comic up. *cough*) On top of THAT, I started up Byron, which, while it got off to an admittedly rocky start, it’s now a huge hit – not to mention I learned a few hard lessons pertaining to what people think of you.
I was inducted into the <Portent Alliance> – a PVE raiding guild that has been such a positive force in my life. To Udivyli, Ailinea, Jezriyah, Trey, Firxen, Yg, Kilgorin, and the other 300+ people on the roster – I truly love you guys. You’ve made the game not only an immensely enjoyable experience again, but you guys are my family, and I’m honored to know you all.
I have met the most amazing people I could have ever hoped for. You guys, the WoW community, have kept me sane, fulfilled, and happy. And while I’m a weenie and haven’t hit 80 yet (I hit 77 earlier today! Northrend flight!), I will continue to strive for better. I will move forward in my art, in comics, my career, and my own personal development.
I love you all, and wish you nothing but success in every realm of your life, safety, love, happiness, and everything in-between.
Happy New Year!
~Kelly
PS – Down with the Olympics! I’m talkin’ to YOU, Gordo!
Hi everyone! Yes, I live! I’m trying my hardest to solo the dreaded ‘Holiday Season’ (level ??; elite), and while it’s tough, I think I’m winning! XD Things have been super hectic, what with the holidays, birthdays, friends, family, and work (both Fit Brains and Byron). I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday so far!
On a more personal note, the wrist and the arm are getting worse. :/ No, I’m not boo-hooing, or looking for hugs or whatever, just letting you guys know. My wrist surgery is near the end of January, where I’ll be bound to the old ‘breadbag and bathtub’ way of life (having a cast) for about 7-10 days. If my left arm/hand don’t work, then I don’t work! ^_^;; (And to the guy who was bitching at me earlier for ‘not doing what I promised I would do’ – *flips the bird* )
I’ve also been allowing myself to enjoy WoW a bit more these last few weeks! (Also love how people are bitching at me for this, too…lol) Thanks to my wonderful guildies – especially our intrepid leader – I have now, after more than a year of release, finally seen the Wrathgate cinema. Yes!! I also did the Battle for Undercity last night too! I was a good cow, and never spoiled the Wrathgate for myself by watching it on YouTube or whatever. I was blown away. The entire quest line leading up to it (and all of Dragonblight, for that matter!) were some of the most thrilling and detailed quests I had done in a long time. The game truly felt personal, like I really was the brave and stalwart hero the Horde had asked for. I haven’t watched the Alliance version yet, but I will soon so I can compare the two myself. All in all, amazing.
Recently, I had been thinking about the long and winding path I have been taking as an artist. Even though I am by no means ‘good,’ I am an industry artist, and one day hope to be that ‘good.’ Now, while my full-time career takes priority, I am also beginning to step into the greater depths of drawing webcomics. Now, I am no Penny Arcade, I am no Scott Kurtz, and I am no Jeph Jacques. I would never attempt to make a full-time, life-supporting gig out of either WoW Eh or Byron. Anyways, if I tried, Blizzard would sick their bloodthirsty lawyers on me, and I don’t want my legs broke. D:
But, on a serious and artistic note, how ‘far’ do I want to take this? WoW Eh started out as a fun side project, but now it’s become this…entity; this artistic creature that has evolved slowly over the last year, and has now become a part of my life. I’m not trying to be all hoity-toity artsy-fartsy here, I’m just making an observation. I mean, due to legal reasons, I could never publish a book or anything of it, but I’m curious to see what will happen and how far I will take it in the future.
Or I could just be totally blabbering. I dunno. ;P
Also as this new year comes to a close, I really want to thank you all again for your love, kindness, and support for both comics. Thank you all (well, MOST of you, anyways…grrr) for understanding that December is a crazy, crazy month, and thank you all for being so patient! Go open presents, light a menorah, eat goodies, and toast to the new year these next two weeks! When you return, I’ll try my best to have the next page of WoW Eh waiting for you.
